Thing is the UK is the main gateway for USA trade to the EU, thus damaging their economic development. The UK whilst being damaged will have the biggest traders. Plus the EU is trying to pressure the UK because the UK is one of the biggest contributors to their economy.

Must say @Vox I’ve been recently been finding your channel to be just down right biased. The EU in itself is corrupt and a failing democracy, that’s why the United Kingdom left, for to long the rural parts of the U.K. have felt ignored by the unelected European Commission that holds more power than the European Parliament, restricting how much fish the British can fish in our own waters, this is why fishing towns voted to leave. The EU will not be better off with out us and it’s silly to say otherwise, they’re loosing their largest funding partner, as one German MEP put it “the eu is not loosing one country, but nine” nothing can get done when they need an absolute majority of all EU member states to get anything done, and we weren’t reluctant to join at first,, the EEC didn’t want us to join, we applied 3 times! Immigration was a driving factor to the vote as the EU was trying to enforce how many migrants we should let in, opened our borders to Europe allowing as many migrants in as wanted, we have a housing shortage, lack of infrastructure and strain on the NHS thanks to the EU. The people have felt ignored and had enough with self entitled Eurocrats making laws for the people of counties they’re not even from, and I say the same thing for a Brit making laws for other EU nations!

  • Bruno Buccellati
    Bruno Buccellati Il y a 4 jours

1:10 yeah, the whole point why they left is because EU migration policy is garbage. It's our fault and we should respect their decision.

The EU will be stronger and better without having a whiny UK in the backseat :) we don’t want the UK, we don’t need the UK, and the sooner they realize that the better. Just leave without a deal, as Farage the weasel would say: leave means leave :)

I'm English. I love European unity. But I suspect that England (not Scotland) is more detrimental than beneficial to Europe as a part of the Union. England is better suited to being Americas sidekick. Europe I think would be sensible to discard England as far as is practical and possible and concentrate on strengthening its own unity.
England is very dishonest. It has lied and lied about the EU because it never really wanted to be part of it. Leave it to America.

Can’t wait for the UK to gtfo of EU, we don’t want them here, and we sure as hell don’t need them, let the UK sit there on their island and sulk, and i really hope for a no deal brexit, that will hopefully lead to a UK financial crash, and if we are lucky, the United Kingdom will be un-united, let’s go united Ireland, a free Scotland and a independent Wales :D

  • GERALD710
    GERALD710 Il y a 24 jours

The very things you are touting as"benefits" are EXACTLY the reason why the UK left and which, if they tried, would lead to an exodus.
The East European EU members are not interested in a migrant policy that means them taking in any Non-Europeans
Secondly, who is drafting these policies, the unelected EU Commission??
Then even Italy would end up leaving. And that will be the end of the EU
The Euro has so far been a constraint to growth for less developed EU members. In fact, the top economic performers in the EU like Poland do not have the Euro as their currency. The common complaint in the Balkans is that the Euro made things justs as expensive as they are in Germany but the wages did not change whatsoever.
Had the EU stuck to just making sure trade was free and open (basically to the principles of the EEC), things like Brexit would have never happened.

No deal to set an example should be fine, please someone veto the long extension, the UK doesn't have a concrete plan on how to proceed anyway

How So? The EU gave no give in negotiations to put off the 9 other nations who are 50/50 on leaving the EU. The pathetic pro EU British did things like voting no on a no deal. Telling the EU exactly what they will and won't do. Don't be fooled it's about money and power in the EU. Oh and even despite all the insecurity of Brexit, Britain's got rid if the deficit and is growing at the same rate as the EU as a whole.
The two would be better apart. France is a mess, Germany's going bankrupt looking after it's millions of rapugees,Sweden's...well the less said about that the better. Yay EU

My solution to prevent EU from collapsing:
    1. Cultural connection - Popular things in a single country would be distributed to other countries via internet, companies would make items that are very similar to the trend yet still feels to the consumer like they own it. Music would be modified in a way that is very similar to the originating country yet still feels like they came from the receiving country. This will connect Europeans on things that they like about and this would also strengthen the connections between the countries.
    2. Exposure of EU issues - Problems that are inside the EU are shown to the citizens of the member countries and there would be a poll and opinion boxes on how to solve the issues. There also should be the publication of internal documents and debating about how does the current things stands. This will give countries the feel that they control the EU because it's theirs.
    3. Ditching of "stereotypes" - I mean removing what's called on a person from where he came from ( ex. Germany > German) this should be replaced with European. As previously discussed in #1, there should also be the repetitive attempt of calling somebody through media a European. This will anger some countries but will mark the idea that they're not "this" but they are European.

The problem with Americans viewpoint on Europe is that they keep correlating it the usa. This is absolutely incorrect as the united states is a federation of autonomous regions while the eu is a federation of sovereign states so there can't be a single foreign policy and a single army its a against Principe eu value. The modern eu actually arouse as an economic partnership and before the mastricht treaty was purely an economic treaty.

Sure the EU is a big happy family? As the video points out European countries have been at war with each a lot over the centuries. The Great World Wars were caused by European countries. Who really controls the EU. Germany and France basically. The EU has evolved into a huge bureaucracy that tells member countries how they are going to run their economies. They make the inter-country trade rules. Somehow I don't think the people of Europe are particularly happy with the all-encompassing powers of the bureaucrats in Brussels. Sure countries wanted a trade deal to eliminate huge tariffs b/w European countries. Yet the EU has become much more than that. The UK wanted less control from Brussels but the bureaucrats in Brussels said no. It is our rules or nothing. You do as we say, we will tell you how to run your country. The UK after unsuccessfully trying to change the EU from within have finally said we want out. The UK is in a different position than much of Europe as the UK was smart enough to keep their own currency. The bureaucrats in the EU have decided to make exiting the EU family as punitive as they can for the UK.Kind of a warning to any other members wishing to exit the "family". Yet are the people in the EU countries happy with the all-encompassing powers of the bureaucrats in Brussels. I don't think they are. The riots, demonstrations in Europe say a lot of just how much European people are getting fed up with the EU. If the UK leaves in a hard Brexit, just who will it hurt more the UK or the EU? Just how hard would it be for the UK to sign trade deals with other countries? The UK being out of the EU means costs to support the huge bureaucracy in Brussels must go up for all other EU members. Just maybe many of those EU members may say we want to reduce the bureaucracy in Brussels? Then a realization that they want much less in control from Brussels.
