How to Install a COMPLETELY New Front Suspension in your Car or Truck

  • Ajoutée 21 avril 2019
  • Learn how to replace the ENTIRE front suspension of your car in this two episode series. Here I will show you how to install a brand new wheel bearing, ball joints, control arms, tie rod, strut, and axle.
The ball joint and wheel bearing has to be pressed into the knuckle and I have a bunch of tips and tricks to make that easy. I show how to properly install a tie rod (safely) and get an accurate measurement so you can get the car aligned. I also show you how to properly torque down bolts with bushings so you don't tear them. The rest of the suspension parts are pretty simple to install and then we go for a ride to see how much better the car handles!

Is it the same steps and parts for a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Is this ideal for a DIY or should be left to the professionals. Roughly how much did you spend on the whole suspension. Thanks in advance.

Great video, nice work! May already has been commented but when pressing the hub, it must be pressed against the inner race and not the outer race so that there is not transfer of the (pressing) force through the bearing balls. Cheers!

For you guys who don't not use your torque wrenches like they're a long handled ratchet. You don't want to over torque the measurement mechanism...and ruin the torque wrench's measurement mechanism. And, torque your bolts and nuts to factory specs.

Would removing the hub and pressing out the rear wheel bearing on a RWD vehicle be approximately the same procedure as yours up front minus the fact that front is built into knuckle? Recently rebuilt my front end too and was thinking about investing in bearing adapters but, none fit my vehicle in the rear and front had hun built into rotor therefore different bearing than yours.

Chris, I gotta tell ya... I drive for Uber and have a 2008 Impala. I bought it with 95k miles on it 4 years ago. Been driving for Uber for 2 years now. Put something like 70k miles on this car in 2 years.

You are SO RIGHT when you say that your car feels completely new when you get a new suspension done. So far on this Impala, I have replaced all 4 of the wheel bearings, all of the brake calipers, rotors, both of the outer tie rod ends, etc... I haven't done anything with the struts yet, but I plan on it... JUST getting new bearings makes it feel so much better! Steering is so much better once you get new tie rod ends, too... it's incredible the difference it all makes.
