Stephen A. calls Cowboys' offense 'predictable' after loss to Titans | First Take

  • Ajoutée 6 nov. 2018
  • Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and Ryan Clark break down who is at blame for the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the Tennessee Titans. Stephen A. explains that Jason Garrett and Scott Linehan are to blame because they have a predictable offense and have no faith in Dak Prescott. Max Kellerman feels the problem stems from Jerry Jones having too much confidence in Dak Prescott. Ryan Clark explains that the blame should be shared among Jerry Jones, the coaching staff and the players not doing their jobs.

If Jerry Jones wants all the credit then he should make himself head coach. This situation is ridiculous and it will continue as long as Dallas fans keep spending money to watch the cowboys lose. Stop buying gear for yourself and kids for 2 years and I promise you will see a change.

Definitely Linehan and JG first...Dak hasn't necessarily helped either.. He hasn't improved and has shown consistent terrible play over and over.... but the reason I say coaching first is: They have had, dating back to mid season LAST YEAR ample time to figure it out .... Now, an entire year later, half the season gone, they're still doing the same old bull.. Since then, They've SEEN game after game that whatever they're trying to do has not and will not work, yet they refuse to do anything about it.

From a Cowboy fan's perspective, WE SUCK!!!!!! The only way Jerry "My head is too heavy to see what's really going on!" Jones is going to fire Jason Garrett is if he loses his talent at "playing the flute" or wins three super bowls. I say three cause that third one was Jimmy's I don't care who says what! Firing that O-line coach really helped, didn't it? I saw a major improvement on the line, Dak didn't have to drop back that far cause the defense was on him before his third step! Coach Clapper lived up to his contract, that clapping really motivated his team, not to mention pulling down his microphone to spit. Is Dak to blame for some of the decisions he made? Hell yes! He's only proving all his critics right, he states it's his fault and he can play better than he is, but he doesn't own up to it and doesn't step up. He's playing like the game is in overtime and needs to win or else. Jerry Jones will never give up his power and ego to get back to the Tom Laundry/Jimmy Johnson days. I predict he'll be chronologically frozen and his son will be his voice because he'll be the only one able to hear him. Garrett's mouth will eventually ware out and Stephen will need a new flute player. Jerry will hire the Avengers to play offense with Dak but they'll still come up short. And Shawn Lee will be out for another four weeks. That about sums it up! Gone are the days of THE DALLAS COWBOYS that I used to know. May our legacy rest in peace!

The last time ESPN created a coach it was Jon Gruden. Chucky has a 10 year 100 million dollar deal which is all guaranteed. And the Raiders were somehow blown out by a 1 - 7 team, the San Francisco 49ers. ESPN would tell everyone Troy Aikman or Tony Romo should move out of the broadcast booth and coach the Cowboys. Jason Garrett would be more knowledgable, than the elite player. He might want to hire a new offensive coordinator. But the Cowboys have all of the pieces they need: Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, Ezekiel Elliot, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Leighton Vander Esch along with elite veterans like Sean Lee.
Amari Cooper is a long term move, not a win now move. At a minimum, Amari is back on his option for 14 million. And they could give him a deal like Odell Beckham, 5 years 95 million. The Cowboys have young elite assets in place, who need to execute.

Damn, I agree with Stephen A. which is strange. Collins (OL) participated in most of the negative plays. He either holds, false starts, or gives up a sack which caused Dak to fumble. Look at Collins on the last 4th down play by the Cowboys. Dak is scrambling and Collins stopped trying to block and started spectating. WTH? Look at the negative plays and tell me the line didn't initiate the poor execution. Every time we had a drive going, we got a penalty called on guess who, Collins. That's coaching, period. Your best coach should be the OL coach.

If you don't have brain to do that, you must hire someone who can develop that system...Jerry is not going to do that, in his eyes, he won three superbowls, therefore he has a system and you must follow it and just trust him....when he hires don't bring any new ideas because he's going to ask you, so tell me, how many Superbowls have you won?

I've been a Cowboys fan my entire life. I'm almost 21 years old. A fan of the 'most prestigious team in America', and I've only ever seen us win two playoff games. I've never seen us win a chip, or even come close (besides maybe 2016).
There used to be some solace in being a Cowboy fan. Knowing that you're one of the premier franchises in the league, and always having hope because of it. That's why us Cowboy fans are so annoying, we always have hope because we're the Dallas fuckin Cowboys. People want to play for us, we're the most valuable sports franchise in the WORLD, and were smack dab in the middle of one of the biggest states/metro areas in the nation. But we haven't done anything! It took me almost two decades to realize that we're going nowhere quick. Realizing this makes me really appreciate the Browns fans out there.
I'm still gonna watch my Cowboys every Sunday and hope to God they win, but my Super Bowl aspirations for this franchise are gone. I'm done making excuses for this sad team.

When i was 21. I watched the 1992 Superbowl from a humvee in the middle of the desert while training as a medic for the Marine Corps. 10 of us troops circled around a 5" Sony watch man hand held tv. Watchin us ROLL OVER Buffalo. Those few years were the best of my life. Enjoy yours young friend. But always think about your future. I unfortunately didn't think much of mine. Now i'm not living well.
