I became a Thiem fan after watching his performance against Benoít Paire at the last Australian Open. I knew he could make it big. Then he won the Indian Wells. Now he's in the French Open final for the second consecutive time. It should be his time to shine and be a grand slam champion.

One of the very few nicest blokes on the ATP tour. He is slowly growing to be the clear second best clay court player of this era, after Rafa, because he has beaten Djokovic two times in a row at Roland Garros and also Federer earlier this season.

It's so ironic that Rafa was the main critic to the old US Open days when they had the men's Super Saturday & Sunday back-to-back semis and finals 5-setters. He was the main opponent, stating that a change to the scheduling must be made, and that the US Open soley does it to bring in more revenue and doesn't care for the health and safety of the star tennis players. And now, he's looking to soley benefit/take advantage from this unfair majors scheduling and choosing to stay mum about it

Much respect for Dominic Thiem. I favored him over Nole to make it back to the French Open final 2 years in a row. Going into his match against Novak Djokovic, I suspected that he would have the edge over Novak because he is slightly better on clay, has the spin, the angles, and really has taken to clay as a surface and can even be known as a clay court specialist. I think it will be a harder challenge for Rafa to play against Dominic rather than Novak. I want Rafa to win but he does not have this in the bag. Nonetheless, I am absolutely blown away by Nadal. The way he handled the wind conditions against Roger Federer and still did it in 3 sets, that alone tips my hat that Rafa deserves to win the final to make it 12 French Open Championship wins and 18 majors overall. Vamos Rafa.

Cadmar Business Suite Il y a 6 mois

@Bernhard PircherPircher age does not have anything to do with it to me concerning Rafa beating Roger. They know one another's game too well but it is just Roger Federer's weakest surface. Roger Federer played a brilliant game. It wasn't lacking in any area. He was trying to beat the GOAT of clay in a Grand Slam. Rafa is not only dominant on clay but he is probably the most formidable antagonist to play against in the strong wind. I expect it to be a great final tomorrow. I am pro-Rafa but I really enjoy Dominic as a player and person.

    • Bernhard Pircher
      Bernhard Pircher Il y a 6 mois

I think its easier to beat a 37 Year old Federer, than Thiem, who Played a good Season and has beaten Rafa this year. I Like both Players, even though i am Austrian myself and hope to see a good Match tomorrow.
