Well here we are two and a half years later. How’s it working out UK? Clearly people have short term memory loss of the high inflation and unemployment of the 1970’s.

Didn't he land everyone in it. Get elected on the basis of giving the people a vote of leaving, try to get them to stay and now what a complete and total mess it is. Are they going to play things to get the people to vote again? I know may said not as it would go against democracy but is that so as they don't want to be perceived as playing the public again? May is smarter than that. She knows that she can't afford to initiate a move towards a second referendum. She was part of the movement that initiated the move to leave and won the election as a result. They want the voters to scream for another referendum instead of encouraging them again like the last time.
Will the next part in this saga be Scotland looking to leave the UK and remain in the EU?
Can NI also leave and be an independent state from Ireland and UK yet still remain in the EU.
If that happens, then the public will call for a second referendom and UK will look to remain?

"Brexit is a risk we can avoid" - so why have a referendum? Answer: couldn't manage his own party.

Also couldn't handle a party consisting of fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists, although he could've meant UKIP or the Tory's for all we know.

Despite Cameron's and Osborne's austerity, our economy was safe under their hands. Before the 2016 referendum, nearly all general elections were faught on the economy. This is no longer the case. Now we are living in a post truth era.

Being in the EU created more uncertainty and apprehension IMO.
    - Will the EU make us adopt the euro this year?
    - Will the EU make us take in more refugees?
    - Will the EU pressure our PM to help bail out debt-ridden EU countries?
    - Will the EU make us sign yet another treaty handing over sovereignty?
    - Will the EU enable freedom of movement with Turkey this year?
    - Will the EU create an army this year?
    - Will the EU force us to go fully metric this year?
    - Will the EU eventually make us drive on the wrong side of the road?
    - It can't be long until the EU implements a Europe-wide highway code.
    - How long will it be until the EU forces us to display signage in multiple languages?
    - Will the cost of EU membership increase this year?
    - Will EU policies eventually force us to privatise the NHS?

Why are the British deliberately voting to make their country weaker? Doesn't make any sense. How is a fractured EU better for them?

    • S. G.
      S. G. Il y a 2 ans

I doubt it. When you are eating the same food as the dogs on the street, it cant get any worse. Go to a Food Bank anywhere in England and see for yourself. The UK is a huge market for a lot of foreign companies. German Car Manufacturers will still want to sell to the British because they earn huge revenue from UK consumers. If they raise the prices they will hurt their own profits as the law of Supply and Demand dictates. London is different. London will feel the negative effects and so will some major town centres. But not the rest of England.

    • Di0
      Di0 Il y a 2 ans

At the same time, the pound will greatly decline in value, meaning inflation and generally higher prices on everything across the board. There's also gonna be less incentive for businesses to open there, increasing unemployment and slowing down the economy. Those effects will trickle down eventually.

    • S. G.
      S. G. Il y a 2 ans

Its already tough. The gap between the poor and the rich is getting worse everyday. We saw first hand how the Government gave billions to save the banks but gave nothing back to the communities. That's why the poor and working class voted to Exit. Because they knew it would hurt the Rich and Powerful. The working class of Britain don't feel the economic problems from exiting the EU, they never benefited from it in the first place!

    • Di0
      Di0 Il y a 2 ans

That's a fair argument. I respect that. Thou time will tell, this will be a tough time for people in the UK in many ways.

    • S. G.
      S. G. Il y a 2 ans

Immigration was a bigger concern than Economics. The people of Britain, the majority of whom are not Rich and Affluent, and live in the Rural towns, felt their government wasn't listening to them, their communities have changed considerably due to immigration. They want to live by their own laws and their own rule. Cameron promised to reduce Immigration time and time again, yet he failed time and time again. We do not want to see the EU collapse, a lot of British people travel to Europe, to France, Netherlands and live in Spain. We just want to live peacefully independently without anyone governing us and telling us how to live. " The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people".

The ruling elite ( and Cameron is particularly typical ) are ruthless, and determined. I wouldn't put anything past him . It's was perfect in location for pulling back the labour voters. It was ideal that it was a woman and one with young children , and old grubby man wouldn't have got much sympathy it wouldn't have outraged people, it wouldn't have lasted longer than a day. The timing was perfect as well not so far ahead they couldn't keep it alive in the papers and TV until the voting date. Not too close as not to have got your narrative out there and understood. The BBC have been keeping it alive squeezing it out right up until today on 'vine' was a rather windy topic of ' Are emotional people right to make speeches at funerals, cue lots of playback of relatives and children at Jo Cox funeral milking this one for all it's worth . All that's left now is for them to ave the husband on Thursday filmed by the BBC putting his vote form in the ballet box big cross on the remain cue looks into the camera with the words 'THIS ONE IS FOR YOU JO' with the obvious message for everyone else and , it's sick , is manipulative, it's sinister as hell don't let these evil Ba*****ds get away with it. The EU has raided, and stolen, much of Britain's wealth and self reliance. So much so, that too many are afraid to leave and willing to accept the crumbs given back to them. Every great achievement carries uncertainties, but the brave persist, and make the dream come true. The EU will try to make things tough at first, but they will fail in the end, and Britain will Shine Like The Sun again on it's own.

All this fear mongering about leaving is ridiculous. If we vote leave, nothing happens for at least two years. Brexit has to go through parliament first. The two years starts from the date the EU is informed by the prime minister of our intention to leave. That allows time for all sorts of measures to be agreed. I would suspect that very little will change with security arrangements and intelligence sharing. Nothing will happen with trading arrangements for two years. Other Europeans working in the UK will remain working in the UK and will not be repatriated. As goes with Brits abroad.

Remember. The world never changes for the better because people are afraid of change, that's what they count on. So they spread the fear, aka "project fear". And still too many people fall for it.
Britain will survive, it has seen far worse. Anything than to stay part of a near dictatorial and corrupt system built for the elite and big business to serve themselves, not you, not your native culture, not your country, which will be lost eventually, guaranteed.
Leave, do it for yourselves, do it for the rest of us in the EU. It is the only signal big enough for them to understand. And don't underestimate your own strengths as a nation.
Make June 23rd your independence day.

  • roberto rocha martins Rocha

Why i would buy a product from England if i can buy it to another country, of Europe with the same quality? I sorry but why sould i buy a product if you choose to leave and turn your back on us? If you leave i think that you will lose more in long term! But is your choice, i respect it.
Sincerely! I hope you leave, because if you don't leave the people that are opposing to EU will always, and i'm sorry to say and to put it that way, but, will cry like children forever, and it's worst to EU, and to your country also.
You have strong arguments to leave, even more good arguments to leave then to stay. Economically it's more than evident that you will lose, be realistic and sincere with yourselves. You have «a big trade with China», the EUA still have a strong economy(let's confirm it!!!), but who lose money lose power, and vice-versa, the EU will shake and lose of course, but will survive.
Like i have said before I will respect your decision. Go for it if you will and if is better.

Maybe there is another point. To put the entire EU project in danger of total co lapse could have far reaching problems down the future line of our nations. A total break up of the union could lead to a spread of nationalism and a consolidation of borders which in turn would lead to a build up of arms. We all know the consequences of where that would lead us. We should think carefully and remember 1914, a build up of arms and the spread of nationalism was the cause of that war

#AN OPEN LETTER TO DAVID CAMERON. WHO WON'T 'HAVE THE GUTS TO ANSWER IT.. -- We don't want you as Prime minister when we vote to ''LEAVE'' the EU David Cameron. You'd sell your country for a few shekels of silver. You are a liar, charlatan and a traitor to Britain. The EU is ''Adolf Hitler'' by the back door Britain shall never be slaves to the EU. Politically you will never be trusted again. We need a new conservative leader !!! Jeremy Corbin is a commie lunatic so he's out !! So it's either a new conservative leader or a Liberal lunatic fringe government, as anything except Jeremy Corbin is better than you !!

I find it interesting that the people in parliament pushing the Xenophobia button and shouting about regaining our sovereignty are the old, privileged, dinosaurs of the conservative party and the closet would be fascists of UKIP.
You have to realise that these people are not interested in returning power to the people, rather they want the power to returned to themselves. It is the old Tory and fascist belief that they know best and that they have a god given right to rule. We serfs are simply there to serve them and do as we are told.
If that is what you want, be careful what you wish for, you may get it.

Well, it's been 2 years and all the evidence points to European countries wanting to remain in the European Union. This is in part due to what has happened to the UK since the referendum. We've had a number of elections in the past 2 years across Europe, and again nothing to show that any of the countries are about to leave.
So, at what point do we dismiss your prediction as false? And at what point will you retract your prediction and admit that it was wrong?

but every country in the EU owe money to a collective number of central banks within the EU. if Britain leaves the EU the British people will have massive job loss and face higher tariffs in exports slowing GDP. A recessionary gap will be present and with the depreciation of the British pound education funding goes out the window and eventually Britain will fall into an inefficient economy due to diminishing returns. Half the British people don't even know the basics of economics and business, you just follow the sheep. good luck!
