Pity Thiem..He took out Djokovic...But, fortunately the man on his way to the maiden RG title was "The Otherworldly Phenomenon" & Colossus of the sport from Mallorca against whom no one would have stood a chance in his own living room at the stade philippe chartrier

He's a good player. His intensity on clay as nearly as nadal's. That 1st set is just amazing for him. Too bad, he forget he face nadal, a monster on clay. Still need more improvement playin on clay. Idk, he got me a vibes that he would be the next rafa on clay.

Not even the guys on the tour seem to know the correct term for their tournaments. No male player has won a Grand Slam since 1969, but every year they have four chances to win a MAJOR.

Unlike most of the new generation, this guy is genuinely good and consistent. Thanks to French open schedulers and weather, he was unlucky to have had to play multiple days before a big final against the strongest tennis player (probably ever!). His unforced errors (in the finals) were solid winners in the semis. Unfortunately, he was just too tired (likely) and he will win multiple slams in the coming years. He is a classy person as well - a very composed human being.

Wasn't really a fan of Thiem, but he made me a new fan by handling the Serena thing with class and showing true sportsmanship and professionalism in the post match interviews after the semifinal and final. Serena should really learn from him! Can't imagine what she and those American mafia media would have reacted if it had been the other way around.

What a great talent Dominic is, I believe that he will be the next great champion not only on clay but in all surfaces. This guy has everything to be the next Rafa Nadal, maybe not a 12 French Open trophy but his attitude and talent of a champion is already there, he needs only to improve in the mental side so he can play consistently as Rafa. Difinitely he will be a Grand Slam winner very soon.👏 👏 👍 👍

Well, he speaks honestly. Accepting Nadal's performance. Nadal in Paris in the final has made his way and is on top. So Thiem had no chance despite other results previously.

RG should be more fair with giving recovery days to rivals. However Rafa deserved it by the end of the day...

These young guns are just going to have to wait until the Top 3 oldies peter out. That hasn't happened yet. Once Thiem, Tsitsipas, Zverev, or some other young up and coming sensation breaks through to win their first couple of GS is when we'll see the old guard start to retire from the game. For now, they are STILL holding court, and trophies high in the air, to the great consternation of the younger generations...

No worry Thiem , Ask 2 other legends Roger and Novak how many times they lose Rafa in RG , roger 0 6, novak 1 -7 and how many Murray lose in GS Final :-) Thiem have more chance to increase h2h with Rafa because current Rafa is not fully strong and fast as much as his level in 2005_2010

  • MrONRF

Thiem performs greatly the one-handed backhand. Pure art from a guy included in the "last romantic guys" group, along with Federer, Wawrinka, Tsitsipas and few. He surely deserves to be number 1 one day.

Thiem totally robbed of a decent fair match having played 4 days on a row. He's still not up to the mark...Novak would've challenged him at least taking to a 5th. Shame

He gained a big fan in me. He's not the most talented player I have seen but he's one of the hardest working players. He plays so much intensity, passion and he has gotten better and better each year. I will be rooting for him to win a GS , he is a great personality for the game. You can tell how much Rafa, Novak and Federer respect him, that speaks volumes.
