  • Some people are naturally charismatic. Some people just roll well. It's all the same, really.

The title of the video is DiplomaNcy. The "n" apparently gets lost in there. It's a made up term describing the way a high charisma player uses any of the charisma-based skills to magically bend the world to their will. We know that they're bluff checks.

I'm sure someone has already correctly pointed out that "diplomacy/persuasion/deception is NOT mind control" but that doesn't take away from the entertainment value of this video for me.

I am truly sorry to be the one that points this out, but you don’t slash people through the chest with a rapier. There’s a reason it does piercing damage

When you Max out your Charisma LV. In D&D. That would be a much more entertaining title to have.

I remember using bluff one time to convince our cleric that he was at nearly full health after a battle. Like two games later his character was about to die when he snapped his head up and spoke abruptly, "Ya know, I don't feel like I'm really at full health"

Ok story time. So I was DMing a group of players for LMoP (SPOILERS) and they were fighting the ambush of goblins. So, they killed two and knocked out two. Afterwards, they crucified, burned and declothed one of the live goblins. And the other one? The bard decided to persuade it to help them.
I humoured his request and let him roll.
So now, Kevin the Goblin is now a permanent member of their group and forever a legend in their eyes.

Until the druid killed the bard with an Ice Knife the next session.

If this is a democracy, why is there a royal court? Why isn't there a throne room if there's a king? I'm confused...

Ah yes, the good old days of 3.5 when a completely outlandish, unbelievable lie only imposed a -20 penalty, which any mid-level character trained in Bluff could overcome if the other guy was untrained in Sense Motive.

Well with Greg yelling about how he killed a chicken with a man i can only assume that this takes place in skyrim and skyrim is kinda a dramcaiy (*rolls incative to fight repiers*) since they vote for the high king. So if anything Gerg should be in jail since he killed a chicken skyrim's most honorable animal.

I once went into a tavern with the usual shady man in the corner. his quest was to get into a dungeon with the strongest of monsters and he will reward us if we bring a special cup dipped in red from the dungeon. I convinced him we already did it (yet we did not) by dipping a normal cup into a red paint bucket. And saying "I have your precious trinket."
Rolled 20 and completely derailed the DM of his plans. We had to wait a week for more on the campaign.
