All the battles with big 3 in last couple of years is paying off now …he gain the best experience through it even that had lost quite few of these matches but it made him a complete player now well done to Daniil.

Medvedev feels like the next Djokovic. Extremely good player, world n2 is definitely well deserved!
Props to Auger Aliassime as well, very promising player if he keeps playing like this!

@Timo Gros Not in numbers, but in difficult to beat at best of five on hard courts right now. It will take a few generations for anyone to come close to big 3 numbers. We are going back to pre-big 3 times, when top players wouldn't be at the top winning slams for 15 years: Federer (2003-2018), Nadal (2005-2020), Djokovic (2008-2021).

The best came on the end. The on-court interview. "Q: What did you think after being 0:2 sets down? A: I know you will not like it, but I thought what would Novak do..." The biggest possible respect you can show. And it clearly shows that Medvedev is a smart guy. He knows the difference between sporty competition and politics. Both player delivered a fabulous performance. FAA missed a couple of chances too much and got a little bit tired in the fifth set (which is totally normal). But he now has the confidence that he is on level with the best. More to come soon.

Medvedev is so fast on the court, once he is in the zone, he is so smart and rurthless, I love that player. Many people predict Sinner as a future grand slam champion but I find him quite slow on the court. His game is focused on hitting hard from the center of the court and creating angles, but as soon as he has to move to the sides, he is pretty slow to get to the ball.

    • puremaze
      puremaze Il y a 3 mois

Impressive Medvedev with two sets against how he managed to come back from the match. He is a great player who has faith in himself and doesn't give up until he plays the last point. If we add to this his humility and sportsmanship, he has many traits in common with Nadal.

Augier-Aliassime threw everything at him, and still Medvedev found a way through.
I love what I see in the video. There have been matches in where Daniil hasn't had the confidence or the will to come back after being down. But now, with this match and with his way of playing, I think that he is ready to rule the tennis world when the Big 3 retire.
He has made the jump. Let's see if other players like Zverev, Thiem, Shapovalov or Augier-Aliassime can follow him.

What a match!!!Bravo for both players! The decisive was NERVES!NERVES!-Aliasimme missed the chance to win in the third set, after that, Medvedev, with great concentration and serves in the right moments, came back from 0:2 and won!-He is the next who will replace Novak , whom he already, after US open win- declared as GOAT!But, Novak is about to show more regarding GS titles, the future will be very interesting. Nadal is also back, Zverev is always potentially very powerful!-And once again to say that Canada has two great players, Aliassime&Shapovalov, who too, in the match with Nadal was close to win but he missed the chance, pity!-Anyhow, this tandem brought to Canada team's Trophy and they are also in the future very potential GS winners. The future will really be very interesting, a great group of older&younger talents are about to give some more powerful matches for the trophies!-But, but, not to forget the damage that the AUS politicians made to AO as GS! after expelling shamefully, immorally, mean-fully the No.1 -Novak, that is so dangerous!!! for the dignity!!!&fair play! of the world tennis!-After this AO, WTA must think about the consequences!
